Isaiah 60:1&2

ARISE is a proactive word, it is necessary to shake off the heavy weights and oppressions and rise up in faith and obedience to accomplish the will of God.

The various english words that are translated from the Hebrew and the Greek, all give the idea of something that must be done, an action. It is not a thought or a prayer only, but a grasping of thoughts and words and actions that cause a response both in the Spirit and in the physical.

It means to take action, defend what you have, even rise again as from the dead, and collect your faculties.

In Isaiah chapter 60: 1&2,  God is calling upon His people to take the action of arising, in their thoughts, words, actions and faith, because His glory is upon them but as they arise in that strength, then his glory will arise upon them to a greater degree, flow out to others

English Words used in KJV include,

up (stood, rise etc… up)

These translations come from a primitive root; to rise (in various applications, literal, figurative, intensive and causative) :- abide, accomplish, × be clearer, confirm, continue, decree, × be dim, endure, × enemy, enjoin, get up, make good, help, hold, (help to) lift up (again), make, × but newly, ordain, perform, pitch, raise (up), rear (up), remain, (a-) rise (up) (again, against), rouse up, set (up), (e-) stablish, (make to) stand (up), stir up, strengthen, succeed, (as-, make) sure (-ly), (be) up (-hold, -rising).

(Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary)

Isaiah 52;2   2 Shake yourself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

We arise and take action as God leads us, then we sit in our spirits in a place of peace and trust because we obeyed Him and He is working in ways we can’t even imagine, and so we have confidence to wait, but not in a passive way, but a resting in faith way.

Jesus did the will of His father on earth, and is now seated at the Fathers’ right hand                           Ephesians 1:20, Romans 8:34

Our actions release His actions.

Jesus demonstrated this when he took the hand of the young girl who had died and called on her to rise up from the dead. His touch and His words release the power to rise from the dead, but she also lifted herself up using that power.

Mark 5:41

The word translates from the greek as;

Arise, Arose, Arouse, Raise, Rise, Rouse, Awake, Lift, Raise (up)

It conveys the idea of collecting one’s faculties); to waken (transitive or intransitive), i.e. rouse (literal from sleep, from sitting or lying, from disease, from death; or figurative from obscurity, inactivity, ruins, nonexistence) :- awake, lift (up), raise (again, up), rear up, (a-) rise (again, up), stand, take up.

(strongs concordance)

When we arise we should, Bind the spirit of delay

If you have circumstances being delayed beyond reason, blocked in weird ways, confused and twisted, then you may have a spirit of delay working against you.

So arise from the oppression which has come upon the world, loose your circumstances from the spirit of delay

We are not wrestling against  flesh and blood but about spiritual wickedness in high places.

So use your spiritual armour and your spiritual weapons to pull down spiritual wickedness and the spirit of delay
